THE MEETING OF THIEVES

"Hurry Dangelorff, pace thy steed. We must deliver this message with haste", shouted Vincelorff, who along with his brother were hurrying to the high chamber in the outskirts of the kingdom of Terriah.
"I can go no further. Go, my brother, deliver the message. I am but much tired to move now. Go without this wretched kin of thine."
Vincelorff hurried along the woods, brushing aside the branches and verdure till he reached the high chamber of Priest Forhort. As he entered, he saw Priest Forhort, deeply immersed in a book of high magic.
"What bring'est thou Vincelorff? What news comes from the gathering of thieves? Thou need'est my help I believe?"
"Forsooth, great Forhort, I know not. But it doth seem inevitable that the dragons of the 4 worlds are much greater in might than all the Gods put forth together. Their might is beyond all comparison. Still, injustice reigns, as they are put second to the mighty throne of Gods. I prithee, use thy divine foreseeing and foresee the truth and help us overcome this injustice."
Forhort, comtemplating on the matter, shut his book and entered the deep breathless state of spiritual ecstasy, wherein he foresaw that what the thieves decreed were in every fairness; true. He remained in the breathless trance for half an hour and finally he opened his eyes and ushered the magicians to enter the high chamber.
Forhort, dressed himself in purple robes and took the magic wand, wherein all the magicians started reciting the magical chants. Vincelorff watched in awe, the things he had never seen before.
Forhort took the crystal ball and annointed his hands with holy oil. High magic was invoked and he saw the face of the main dragon of Carnair in the crystal ball. "Dost thou know'est that thy might is greater than the might of all the Gods put together?"
The dragon boomed, "The Gods are the mightiest of all beings, dare not insult them. We pay allegiance to them. We benefit from their effects in nature. How dare thou insult them, knave?"
Forhort kept calm and answered, "Thou know'est not, the Gods are epitomes of injustice, putting ethereal beings, as thou, second to their throne. Thou remember'est the war with the Gods, where the Gods were forced to retreat unto the heavens. But those were thy forefathers. Thou know'est not the imperial divine secret. Thou art greater than the Gods themselves, all of your kind put together."
"Could this be?", boomed the dragon, "Could this really be? My ancestors, and yet I know nothing about them. I tell you Forhort, prove to me and my brethren, this secret's worth, and thou shalt have my complete allegiance." Saying so, he faded away into the smokes and the ball became clear once again.
Vincelorff, all the while was awestruck, and afterwards, regained his senses. Forhort said, "Go thou, to the thief camps of Carnair, Hodd and Zwingroff. Inform them about this ethereal truth, so that they may help us in this quest for justice."
"Thy wish is my command, O great one", replied Vincelorff and stormed into the wilderness.
